Terms of Use
These terms cover your use of ShitResume. By using the site you accept them. They are written to be readable rather than to hide anything.

What the service is
ShitResume is a free, browser-based resume builder. The application runs in your browser and stores your resume on your device. There is no account and no server-side copy of your data.
Your content is yours
You own everything you write, and you keep all rights to it. Because your content never reaches us, we take no license over it and we have no ability to view, use or distribute it.
Your responsibilities
- Keep your own backups. Your resume lives in your browser. If you clear site data, switch devices or uninstall the browser, it is gone. Export a PDF, DOCX or JSON copy regularly.
- Do not rely on us for storage. This is a tool, not a records service, and we cannot restore anything for you.
- Use it lawfully. Do not use the service to create content that is fraudulent or infringes someone else's rights, and do not attempt to disrupt the service for other people.
- Look after your own API key. If you connect an AI provider, your key is stored in your browser and used directly against that provider's API. You are responsible for your account and for any charges that provider bills you.
AI features are optional and come from third parties
AI assistance is provided by a model provider that you choose and pay for. We do not run the model, do not control its output and cannot guarantee what it produces. Always read what an AI feature wrote before you send a resume to an employer.
No guarantee of a job or an ATS outcome
The templates are built to be readable by applicant tracking systems, and the ATS check gives a structural review. Neither is a promise: every system scores differently, and no resume tool can guarantee an interview or a job. Job applications are your own decision and responsibility.
Availability and changes
The service is offered as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind. Features may change or be removed. The source code is published under the MIT license, so nothing here prevents anyone from running their own copy.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost data, lost opportunities, lost profits, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Because the service is free and your data never reaches us, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us, which for the free features is zero.
Open source and attribution
ShitResume is built on Reactive Resume by Amruth Pillai, which is published under the MIT license. That license and its copyright notice continue to apply to the parts of this product that come from that project. Our own source is published at github.com/techreone/resume-local-first.
